Happy Medium Anniversary To Me
As I sit here today, on the anniversary of my very first article on Medium, I can’t help but be amazed by the previous 12 months.
I do not need to explain what a dumpster fire of a year 2020 was for just about every human being on the planet. The chaos and loss of life due to the pandemic is something that I will never forget and I know will likely affect all of us for the rest of our lives.
This article, however, isn’t about the negativity that this year sent crashing through our doors, changing everything. I’m sure we have a lifetime of stories covering exactly that ahead of us.
Instead, I wanted to write this as a THANK YOU to Medium, all of the amazing writers, readers, and publications who have so generously accepted me into this wonderful, and for me, necessary world.
What I wrote, on January 18th, 2020 was something I needed to write and share publicly. It was about a mid-life crisis, depression, and decisions I was (and still am) in the middle of making to change things for the better. It was scary and left me incredibly vulnerable, but it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.
